OMG learn some real history of the Americas before spouting such nonsense. You make no allowance for the difference in how the first Americans’ physical environment differed from that of Europe and Asia. The Spanish clerics who traveled to Mexico early and learned the Aztec language were impressed by the sophistication of the philosophical arguments they had with the Aztec elders. Unfortunately, they did not record much of it for us to see today, probably because they were too focused on proselytizing.
Look up the Iroquois Federation and how it worked. It was definitely an influence on the Europeans setting up their new government in the late 1770s. To assume the first Americans were stone age savages is ignorance of the first degree. I might also mention that Europeans looked like savages compared to some Asian civilizations at least until the late Middle Ages.
The kid is 5 years old, but the outcry seems to be directed at CBS for training cameras on him, which was certainly unfair to the child. I’ll give Lester credit for resisting the Christmas tree meme, but his indignation about this event seems misplaced at best, really stretching to warrant high indignation about the incident.
Jennifer Rubin in the WashPost today suggests that she might be the only one who could possibly win the nomination from Trump, but she doubts whether she could beat Biden. I wouldn’t bet the family farm on that tho’. Trumpistas are a cult from the word Go.
The thing is those like Sojourner are so biologically naive that they do not realize how strict the requirements for a given life form to live and reproduce are, and how long it takes for adaptation to occur. Darwinian selection has blown right past their heads without stopping.
Given the abundance of Ivy degrees in the Republican party in Congress and on the Supreme Court, I’d guess you have a case. And, no, I don’t have an Ivy degree.
And a number of those changes in the past have resulted in massive species loss over a relatively short time period. In this case, we know that the rate of change is fast and due to human activities over the past 1000 years, ONE millennium. Are you proposing that we do NOT restrict our production of fossil derived CO2? Are you aware that the effects on ocean currents is due to warming, not to over-fishing or plastics? When you demonstrate a basic understanding of the biology, chemistry and physics of the natural world, then maybe I’ll grant some of your points. By the way, my research on these subjects is through scientific literature. Is yours?
