@number three, I’ll be brewing up a nice hearty smoked porter in honor of old Affie (while any reason is a good reason to brew up a good beer, this is a grand one -and Porter has its’ origins in the early 1700s London. I prefer a good smoked one, while todays’ malts are not smoked, the heat sources of the time were fire-based (often either wood or coal) and imparted a smokiness to the malt. I don’t use coal, I use oak (easy to come by, and a bit cleaner by far). This strip commentary will never feel the same.

yes, true. My point was he has only himself to blame for his woes. He was never the GOAT, but he WAS a good player in his prime -I do hate to see someone just waste their talent, but he made many poor choices -however, make no mistake, they were his choices to make.

Well, I’m an omnivore. I love veggies, beef, pork, poultry, and seafood. Well, everything. I also enjoy a relaxing time on my back porch with a fine cigar at the end of a work week, with a beer, or if I’m feeling special, a few fingers of whiskey. None of this to excess -all things in moderation.I could stand to lose a few pounds -certainly. But I work hard, and I enjoy the living I’m working for. I don’t preach nor do I give a living hoot about what other people do.

Thank you for the report, #3. I’m sorry I missed that strip back then and had been wondering what happened to him. I’d been on hiatus from GoComics for a number of months and sadly this included that time period, and so had just figured he was absent for some reason or other and would soon make an appearance. He is certainly missed.I will look forward to sharing a round and a laugh with him in the future (not too soon, I hope), as with many others I have conversed with on these sites.I’ll be the biker holding a cigar and hoisting a nice, heavy stein full of a dark bitter.

of course, he could have just played the game and not made a spectacle of himself. BTW, what was the end result? Oh yeah, he hasn’t been able to land a team. Nevermind.
