Exactly. It’s one thing to mount an aggressive defense of your client but when your client has an earned reputation of lying and not paying their bills that’s two strikes against them before they start.

I think repudiation s a major part of getting our prestige back. If we bring to justice not just those who stormed our Capital Building but the architects of the insurrection we are showing the world America is concerned about democracy and serious about standing up to dictators and authoritarian governments and leaders. It’s not enough that Trump isn’t re-elected he must answer to all of charges leveled against him at trial. We need to show the world and more importantly to Americans that winning is not all that matters, respect for our Constitution and the law is what matters the most.

If the Repubs ran with it and made it law they would still be in power not withstanding the incredible damage GWB did to America with his invasion of Iraq.

I agree, it’s all political theater and BS.

My dearest friend is an independent contractor and the ACA is the lifeline for himself and his family. I’m a vet so I use the VA as my primary and Medicare as my secondary insurance carrier. The care I get from the VA is outstanding (I haven’t used Medicare), it’s government run and that makes it socialized medicine, which is blasphemy to Conservative Man and those who oppose the ACA. The only thing holding us back from giving good health care to all US citizens is dogma and stupidity.

We lost some of our prestige in Viet Nam and some more when we invaded Iraq but the greatest loss of our prestige was the election of Trump. With the continued effort of bringing those involved in the 1/6 insurrection to justice we can regain what we lost but it all be for naught if we don’t bring the leader AND his top lieutenants to justice. Those who do the bidding of the criminal are just as guilty as the one who gave the orders.

Trump’s lawyers are the reason people don’t trust lawyers. For all their pretense and talk about ethics their ethics change whenever it suits the needs of their client.

The Repub primary is getting more amusing as each day passes.

  9. about 21 hours ago on John Deering

The Speaker of the House said he has ‘real reservations’ over expelling Santos. Other than losing a seat and cutting down the Repub majority I wonder what those “real” reservations are. Maybe it was the Speaker’s involvement in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election?

How can it be great when the Republicans are refusing to let him testily publicly? Could it be that Comer is afraid he can’t control he narrative when a hearing is out in the open for everyone to see and hear?
