Kid: I'm for detention. Mrs. Czerwicki: I'm Mrs. Czerwicki. Show me your slip, please. Kid: I've never been to detention before. Mrs. Czerwicki: And with any luck, you never will AGAIN. Mrs. Czerwicki: Most students decide after landing here that they'd prefer not to make a HABIT of it. Nate: What up, C-Wick? Mrs. Czerwicki: There is, however, the occasional exception.
Public schools in my area don’t seem to have detention anymore. They have In-school Suspension (ISS), the kids go to a room during the school day and miss important instruction. I’m not sure about the reason for the change, maybe they didn’t want to pay teachers for the extra time.
